Bizspace - Hartlepoole Site

Due to the partial collapse of the old lattice gluelam roof trusses during a very low pressure storm in the costal area of Hartlepool we were called by our client to assess the 1500mm drop of the roof and movement of the external envelope with Brian Hobson structural engineers. Scaffolding in a birdcage design was erected to shore the building from further movement. As the roof is asbestos with a rubber sheet roof membrane covering it was decided that structural steelwork to be fixed with raking props to shore the building from any further movement and the external envelope be rebuilt plumb.

The works are ongoing and the structure monitored monthly for further movement
